Hello readers, this posting has got nothing to do with food. I just want to share a few funny thoughts about Twitter. As you can see from the blog website we have a Twitter feed. If people subscribe they can see when I’ve posted one of my English recipes (I think Candi has stopped Tweeting hers…). Anyway, I confess I know precious little about Twitter. Not sure about its uses, to be honest or the purpose of it all. It was my youngest son Tom (a tweeting fiend) who forced me to include Twitter on my blog page and gave me a crash lesson on how to use it. None of my friends tweets in truth (we still talk on the phone. Remember that?). Anyway, my eldest son Mike , who is one of my followers and he’s fast becoming a foodie, last week rang me in desperation. Apparently my tweets were all wrong! I was putting the link to the main blog webpage rather than the individual recipe I was alerting people about (stay with me, reader!). ALSO I wasn’t shortening the web address link, which immediately alerts people to the fact you are COMPLETELY clueless. What was he on about?…NO IDEA ! So he had to explain in VERY simple terms how to go about it PROPERLY. And if you think I’m thick , slow and a right old luddite talk to my colleagues in the office. I’m Bill Gates, compared to them! Anyway, I think I’ve done it right now. My new tweet should pass the test. Please Mike confirm! The things you learn,eh? Loving every minute of it, of course! 
Lucina! non twitto più perché ho perso la password e risettando il computer non riuscivo ad entrare. E’ buffo che la stessa predicozza che Mike ha fatto a te è stata fatta anche a me da mio figlio sull’ottimizzazione di SEO, cioè sui parametri da dare ai post perché possano essere adeguatamente indicizzati da google. Lui non si capacita che il nostro lavoro rimanga poco letto solo perché non sistemiamo questo. E dice che avremmo diritto a ben altri rating. Possiamo migliorarci, ma avere migliaia di contatti non è il nostro scopo, no? Ma mi piace che i nostri figli ci facciano un po’ da babysitter. E’ una bella giravolta, no? E soprattutto che il blog serva anche a questo, anche a rendere il mio filo con Michael leggero ma esistente e il tuo con Matteo lo stesso. Evviva.
Per twitter in realtà io lo uso molto come passiva lettrice. Per esempio sulle iniziative dell’opposizione russa ecc. E sto pensando di usarlo anche più attivamente, mi sembra una potenzialità ma è vero che “la vita fugge e non s’arresta un’ora”, diceva il Petrarca e lui non twittava a quanto mi risulta… perciò ora, via al lavoro…
SEO? E che diavolo è? Stai parlando in arabo,mia cara! Ma dì a tuo figlio di sistemarci i maledetti parametri se ha un po’ di tempo libero così passeremo da dieci lettori a mille. Ha ha. Ti manderò di nuovo i dettagli di come entrare nel nostro tweet, non preoccuparti. Ora sto andando a Edimburgo a trovare il mio figliolino. Baci
